What is IELTS?
IELTS is an English language test designed to demonstrate proficiency for the purposes of study, migration, or work.
More than three million people take this test each year.
IELTS is accepted by over 11,000 employers, universities, schools, and immigration bodies worldwide.
IELTS is the goal for anyone looking to live, work, or study abroad and is accepted as proof of English language proficiency for studying, working, and migrating in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, to name a few examples.
Each country sets its own IELTS score requirements. Score requirements will also vary depending on your visa requirements and where you plan to study or work.
The required score depends on the purpose. For example, a university may request an IELTS score of 6.5 for undergraduate studies, while the same institution may require an IELTS score of 8.0 for a Master’s program.
While there are other ways to demonstrate your English level, many countries officially require demonstrating your English skills to the Home Department through IELTS results.
